It’s been a busy week! We recently had our Feng Shui consultant, Linda Lenore, over for a day of design and feng shui consulting. We decided on paint colors (mostly beige), accent colors (red and gold), lighting, furniture orientation, some landscaping, and other design details. I also got a quote from a solar installer, Your Energy Solutions, plus had a pool guy come out and show us what’s up with the pool. We also had a crown molding guy come out and not only is he putting together a proposal to add crown molding, he is putting together a proposal to sheetrock over the brick in the fireplace and add columns and trim. The inner part we will add tile.
Then this weekend we went shopping! I ordered a large brown U-shaped sectional with a double-wide chase and two patterned ottomans from Sofas 4 Less. The sectional will give us lots of seating arrangement options which is useful in a large great room like ours. We ordered the ottomans in such a size that we can put them together with the sectional to make a big mosh pit! I also purchased a bunch of light fixtures from Lowes, including five red mottled pendant lights, four candle-shaped wall sconces, and four ceiling fan/light combos. I still need to purchase a lighting fixture and exhaust fan for the master bathroom.
I am still not certain about the bar countertop material. I have seen some lovely glass coutertops that have really caught my fancy but I don’t know how practical or affordable that is. I am also looking at granite and quartz as options. The next thing we need to do is get an electrician out there to install some needed electrical circuits in the house, install the lighting fixtures, and more.
